PAYMAN SADEGHI, MD, NEUROLOGIST & specialized headache diagnostician
The director of New Jersey Headache Institute is Neurologist Dr. Payman Sadeghi. After years of success in developing a new philosophy in headache treatment at the Houston Headache Institute, Dr. Sadeghi has now expanded his headache institutes to New Jersey and Florida.
Throughout his career, Dr. Sadeghi has worked extensively with headache patients. In Houston he worked together with Dr. Ninan Matthew, a pioneer in headache treatment who is considered one of the field's most respected figures. His years of experience, along with his dedication and medical inquisitiveness have made Dr. Sadeghi a leading expert in chronic headaches and their treatment in his own right. Once he began operating the Houston Headache Institute, Dr. Sadeghi developed his own philosophy regarding headache treatment which centers around taking the time to fully explore the condition and provide the current diagnosis, as well as providing a diverse variety of treatments.
Dr. Sadeghi graduated from the University of Ottawa with a B.S. in Biochemistry. Wanting to expand his horizons into studying tropical medicine, he went on to earn his medical degree at Nordestana University in the Dominican Republic and completed his clinical rotation at McGill University and the University of Montreal.
In 2005, Dr. Sadeghi completed his residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas, where his interest in headache conditions and treatment began during his Neurology residency there and continued to grow after meeting Dr. Matthew, an authority on the treatment of headaches. In 2005 he was also an Assistant Professor of Neurology at the University of Texas Medical Branch.
Dr. Sadeghi is a member of the American Headache Society, National Headache Foundation and American Academy of Neurology. He's an NBA fan and is fluent in English, Spanish, French and Persian.
