your first visit to new jersey headache institute
Welcome to New Jersey Headache Institute. We strive to provide our patients with the very best and most comprehensive headache care available. Our staff is here to assist you and answer any questions you may have about our policies and procedures.
Before your first visit, gather any personal and family medical history you can. It will be of great help to your doctor. Please be sure to bring your primary care physician's referral with you, if it is required by your insurance company. Aside from insuring proper and accurate billing of your insurance, your physician's referral allows us to work with your primary physician to coordinate your care.
What to expect
During your first appointment you will meet your doctor who will perform a complete neurological exam and review your medical history with you. After a discussion of your diagnosis, your physician will outline your treatment plan, and medication that will be involved. The treatment plan will also precisely outline a schedule for treatments that will promote an efficient and rapid effect.
If further testing is required, your doctor will prescribe it so that it could be completed, and the results obtained, before your next visit to our office. If diagnostic testing is performed by an outside company, your doctor will review the results with you during your second appointment. Reviewing your test results directly with your doctor allows you to ask any questions you may have about them.
Prescriptions and Refills
Medication refills can be authorized by phone, however, please allow one or two days for authorizations to be completed. A member of our staff will gladly accept requests for refills by phone during our regular business hours which are Monday through Thursday form 8:30 to 5:00 and Friday from 8:30 to 4:00.
If your insurance plan is a managed care plan, we require payment of co-pays at the time services are rendered. We will accept cash, personal checks, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. New Jersey Headache Institute is also a Medicare provider.
